How do waterless urinals work?

There are three styles of waterless urinals available on the market. The best kind works via a cartridge system. The urinals are made from non porous china and ergonomically designed to ensure that all of the urine is collected in the removable cartridge. The urine passes through a liquid seal which prevents any urine or smells from coming back into the washroom. Urine is only 3% waste which is made up of uric sediment. The cartridge collects the sediment and only the fluid passes through in to the waste pipe.

Water is full of lime scale and ordinarily the lime scales mixes with the uric sediment and creates hard waste that build up the urinals and in the pipe work. Bacteria clings to this hard waste and results in bad washroom odours. By using waterless urinals, you remove the water and therefore remove the lime scale, the cartridge removes the uric sediment which means you remove the risk of blocked pipes and smelly washrooms! So if you want to improve your green impact, reduce your water consumption and provide you clients with cleaner washrooms, waterless urinals are the way forward.
